I attended a song circle last Sunday. It was a co-creation between two beautiful souls, Diana and Ida.
Ida shared about how our growth is similar to repotting of plants. As a person who loves plants, I resonate a lot with this analogy. When my plant grows so well that the existing pot is too small, I will need to repot it to a bigger pot to allow further growth and expansion. During the process of repotting, the plant goes through a certain level of stress as it involves the process of uprooting from the existing environment (the existing pot) and transporting to the new environment (the new pot). Sometimes, the plant can appear to be withering as it tries to get accustomed and root itself to a new environment. However most of the time it will survive with lots of care and patience. There are times in our life when we need to “repot” ourselves to a “bigger pot”. We have outgrown the old “space”. The new “pot” could be a new challenge, a new venture or a new version of ourselves. It could also be letting go of our past, relationships, leaving a job or migrating to a new country. All these changes are challenging yet necessary to promote healthy growth and evolution. Just as we need to be very tender towards the plant who has just been repotted. We also need to be very patient and caring towards ourselves as we transit to a new “pot”. I am writing this to also remind myself as I transit to a “bigger pot”. Patience, Trust, Surrender and Tender loving Care are probably the best fertilisers we can put in at such a moment. We are approaching the lion gate tomorrow, be very gentle and stay hydrated. If you dare
To follow your passion To not follow others’ footpath Boredom and fatigue will not find you. If you dare To be in the space of love To be touched by another soul Intimacy will caress you like a gentle breeze. If you dare To trust the “Fool” To take the leap of faith Adventures and wonders will receive you with delight. If you dare To love yourself relentlessly To always put yourself first You will know how precious you are. If you dare To release all expired friendships To lay a red carpet for the worthy ones Your tribe will march in with drums and trumpets. If you dare To trust yourself wholeheartedly To never doubt yourself You will know you are and all that you seek. If you dare To trust life completely To receive her with grace You will find her to be more benevolent than you thought. I have searched and searched, endlessly:
For spirituality, for sacredness, for worth, For success, for love, for recognition, for me, For every elusive thing on this earth. The wise ones say, we need not roam, For we are everything we seek, We are the Universe, we are the light, There is no need to seek outside. Yet, I mistook success for my identity, And wealth as my measure of prosperity. Beliefs imposed on my femininity, Dictated my worth and life’s destiny. My self-esteem hinged on others’ views, Validation sought from their praises and cues. I served others to feel good enough, Without realising I lost myself in the rough. Finally, I arrive, To this ordinary human life, And see its beauty in a different light. There is sacredness to be found, In the everyday sights and sounds. Spirituality in each breath, Love that transcends life and death. Success and abundance without the pressure, Recognition and self-worth in equal measure. I am just me, living this ordinary life, Seeing sacredness in each day and night. My very presence is a blessing pure and true, In this world, I am enough and so are you. |
